Five years ago the French manager of Arsenal was mocked for making the statement but now the Manchester City manager is in an agreement.
The new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola agrees with the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who told that a top four finish in the premier league is like winning a trophy.
In the year of 2012, the Arsenal manager makes this statement after losing to Southampton in the FA cup.
After this statement, the Arsenal manager got mocked by though they managed to win two FA cups back to back in the year of 2014 and in 2015.
The former Bayern Munich manager completely agrees with the Arsenal manager and believes in EPL a top four finish is like winning a trophy.
Guardiola said: "Here yeah, in England definitely,"
Pep Guardiola did disprove the idea that he would rather finish at the top four than win the FA cup and today Manchester City will travel to the Emirates stadium to play a match against Arsenal and the Spanish coach did reassert his conviction that finish at the top four is important.
Guardiola voiced: "No, I don't say that [it's better than winning the FA Cup], but it's like winning a title, definitely. There are such strong teams, yeah."
"It's important to try to be there, but six teams want to do that, so two teams will be out. Even Everton will be involved in that,"
"This year looks sometimes amazing. Chelsea and Liverpool didn't play in Europe, and when you see Chelsea and Liverpool player [you wonder] what happened last season not to be even in the Europa League, so that's how difficult it is."
Today if Manchester City managed to beat the Arsenal side then they will move seven points ahead of their city rival Manchester United and also 10 points clear than Arsenal side.
The Manchester City manager believes if they were not in the Champions league then signing of the new players will get affected.
He elucidated: "The effect I don't know,"
"I think you can seduce [new signings] not just about the salaries, the people want to play in the Premier League for many reasons, people can accept to come, but I don't know. I cannot answer that. Maybe in the summer if we are not in the Champions League you can ask me and I can say we wanted to buy two or three players but they didn't come because they want to be in Europe, then I will have the answer, but at this moment I don't know."
