As his agent Donato Di Campli earlier in the season added fuel to the fire when he spoke on the Italians uncertain future with the France champions Paris Saint-Germain.
He said, “Right now he has a complicated situation that goes beyond his contract until 2021."
“He wants to win titles, among others the Champions, But in the PSG at the moment he can not.It matters much more to be a champion than to win money. In addition, any club can come to sign you and offer you the same amount. There is only one sure thing, if you leave the PSG will go to a European club ”
And the move became ever more likely after PSG’s embarrassing 6-1 defeat in the Champions League round of 16 against FC Barcelona.
On what Verratti said “You can learn a lot in defeat. 6-1 against Barcelona was the most horrible night of my life to concede with the end.”
But recently in a recent interview the PSG playmaker Marco Verratti himself made it clear that he will not be leaving Paris Saint-Germain for FC Barcelona.
As speaking after Italy’s win over Albania on Friday night, he quashed those rumours.
Verratti said “Going to Barcelona? No, I’m good in Paris: it’s a great project and I think next year I will still play for PSG.”
