The Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini, who has already made more than 330 appearances with scoring more than 25 goals for Italy giant since 2005 has faced some of the game's greatest ever stars in his 17 years as a senior professional representing clubs in Serie A.
In April of this year, the 32-year-old Italian alone has twice come up against Barcelona trio Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar in the Champions League and has twice kept – arguably the world's greatest three-pronged attack – at bay.
And however, despite the brilliance of these stars, the Juventus wall Giorgio Chiellini has revealed that it is in fact Manchester United forward Ibrahimovic who is the most "formidable".
As in an interview with France Football, Chiellini said, "I have always liked to play against the great ones,"
"Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the most formidable striker that I have come across. I often played against him in Serie A, where there was both sunny days and rainy days.”
"Ibra is the best. He has always made a difference wherever he has gone."
The 35-year-old suffered cruciate knee-ligament damage in a Europa League victory over Anderlecht on 20 April, which was a massive blow for Manchester United.
But, recently the star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic himself has provided an encouraging injury update for Manchester United fans as he confirmed his surgery had been a success.
He claims he feels fixed and stronger following the operation and posted an update on his Instagram page for worried supporters.
