Gatusso Furious As AC Milan Gifts Game To Olympiacos

The Italian side needed a solo point to secure their spot in the next round of the Europa league. But last night they bite the dust against the Greek side by 3-1 goals at Piraeus. Konstantinos Fortounis’ late spot kick goal booked the place of Olympiacos in the final round.

In that match, Pape Boue’ break the deadlock for the Greek side and then after Zapata’s own goal gave them  the advantage, and in the second half, Abate’s late foul on  Vasilis Torosidis gave them the opportunity to steal the match away from Milan.

Gatusso feels his side deserves the Europa league exit

After the match the Milan coach voiced: “We gifted the game,”

“I am furious because we could’ve been stronger even than all the incidents and emerged with qualification.

“We had the game in hand, but when creating eight scoring opportunities in a stadium like this and then falling apart the moment things go wrong, you deserve to go out.

“We’ve shown we are still not good enough to get the game on track when we have the chance.

“It’s true, there were some debatable refereeing decisions, but if you create eight chances in this atmosphere and then after the first sign of difficulty you start making stupid mistakes, it’s only right we go home, because we don’t deserve to go further.”
