Gabriel Jesus Believes Manchester City Can Win Consecutive League Titles

Gabriel Jesus, the Brazil international player who plays for Manchester City, believes that his club side will be difficult to beat in this season’s Premier League.

Football news: Man City started their campaign by winning the Community Shield against Chelsea

Manchester City are gearing up for their next season and their preparations are top notch as they recently won the Community Shield 2-0 against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday, thanks to a brace from Sergio Aguero.

Pep Guardiola’s side had won the League title the previous time by a record-breaking difference of 19 points ahead of their neighbours and rivals Manchester United.

Gabriel Jesus, who had recently signed a new five-year contract with the club, said that he believes the club are favourites to win the title once again this year.

"[Manchester City] can be considered as favourites because we are the current champions," Jesus told reporters.

"But we can't just achieve this on the field, we have to focus on the season, the other teams have strengthened, it will be difficult for all teams.

"For us, it's logical that the teams that will come against us will play against the defending champions, they will want to win anyhow and they will be more motivated to beat us.

"We have to do what we did last season, and remember the good things we did and the things that unfortunately didn't work out, learn from it and make this season better than the previous."

City will begin their Premier League defence against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on next Sunday.
