The Netherland international and Sunderland A.F.C’s star defender Patrick van Aanholt was pulled out of Sunderland’s clash with Tottenham just 15 minutes before kick-off at White Hart Lane,
Which made the Sunderland’s supporters stumped when they knew that the Dutch defender was no longer playing as he warmed up for the Premier League match at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
But recently the Sunderland’s boss David Moyes has explained that Patrick van Aanholt was withdrawn from Sunderland’s starting lineup because of a heart scare.
Because of the results of a heart test, The Football Association contacted the club’s doctor before the game and advised that Patrick van Aanholt should not play the Sunday’s match.
Which made the Sunderland’s boss David Moyes to replace Jason Denayer in place of the Dutch defender Patrick van Aanholt ahead of Sunday's match against the Spurs,
Latterly the Sunderland A.F.C. went down by 1-0 defeat and Moyes explained that the 26-years-old defender was pulled out because of Medical reason,
As David Moyes said,
“He had statutory checks with the cardiologist and an FA panel looked at it and advised us really late on Sunday that he should not play until further tests had taken place,”
“We are just surprised the FA panel did not contact me or the club doctor until five to four on Sunday afternoon.”
“It put us in a really difficult situation. I’ve never in my career been put in a situation like that. We had all that to deal with.”
“We just cannot understand why the message would come to us at that time, 35 minutes before kick-off.”
“He has had some further tests and will travel to London today” Moyes explained the whole thing.
