In their last match against Slovenia, the England fans booed their players and the English supremo pleaded to the fans to support their players instead of laying them off.

The English manager Garry Southgate thinks English superstars cannot consider as big players unless they prove themselves in the big stage.

In that match against Slovenia England booked their spot in the Russia 2018, after Harry Kane scored a wonderful goal against them but often during their qualifying campaign they struggled a bit.

But If you have a look at the English football team then you can see the Champions league winner Gary Cahill and recently a big money transfer man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Harry Kane, but still, the English manager feels that his lads have not done anything to consider them as Europe’s elite players.

Southgate says: "Well, are they big players until they win?"

"We're talking about 'big players' because of transfer fees or because they are playing in the Champions League.

"But when we are in semi-finals, finals and winning trophies then I think we're big players. Until that point, for me, we have it all to prove. I am the same as a coach, so I don't disassociate myself from that. We can't consider ourselves to be big players.

"Big players are [Gerard] Pique, [Sergio] Ramos, [Sergio] Busquets, [Toni] Kroos, [Sami] Khedira, [Manuel] Neuer – I could go on. That's what big players are.

"We create a bubble in our country around the [Premier] League because of the money, because of the profile of it. [But] we have it to prove. No problem. These guys are hungry to prove it."
