Ahead of the I league clash against the Kolkata based I league giant East Bengal on Wednesday, the Northeast based I league club Shillong Lajong’s head coach Thangboi Singto has admitted that they are all set to face the 2017 table toppers even though it will be not so easy for the Northeastern boys.

As the former SAI coach Thangboi Singto, who is currently managing Shillong Lajong FC believes even though East Bengal are currently on top of the table, but no means they will be taking the game lightly.

Thangboi Singto also admitted that their next opponent and the table topper East Bengal FC have the quality players, from goal keeper to the midfielder and foreigners everyone are quality player and Besides that, if you look at East Bengal bench, they have the strongest bench in the league, so it will be a great challenge for Lajong.

As the Shillong Lajong FC’s head coach Thangboi Singto said, "You look at the goalkeeper, TP Rehenesh is top-class. Their midfielders and foreigners are India internationals and high-quality players. It is a great challenge. Besides that, if you look at their bench, they have the strongest bench in the league"

The former NorthEast United FC’s assistant coach  Thangboi Singto also expressed that even though it won’t be easy for Lajong to defeat East Bengal at their home, but  Lajong will play good football.

"East Bengal being on top of the table, it won't be any easy for us. We have to play good football.  First we have to focus on performance; hopefully, results will take care of its own.  We are always under pressure to perform,"
