FC GOA SIGNED ZICO AS THEIR MANAGER FOR THE THIRD TIME THIS SEASON

Indian Super League: FC Goa signed Brazil legend Zico as their manager for the third year.

The club announced the signing of the Brazilian legend as their head-coach for the third consecutive season of ISL. The legend was presented before the media in a conference of the club on Thursday. The “White Pele” desires to be in the club for next three years.

"I wish the new owner all the luck. I am very motivated to do a good job. I share with you the image that I have kept in my heart, the way we went to the final last season. The entire state was supporting us and it is this partnership with the people of Goa is what motivates us. "I have signed for one year, for this season, but we have a verbal agreement that I can sign for another two years. It is my hope that I will be here for the next three years," said Zico.

FC Goa made to the top of the league in both the seasons but had to lose in the hands of Chennaiyin FC by 3-2 in the finals. Presently Zico determines to move a step higher to win the league.

The long time dispute about the ownership of FC Goa came to an end last month when businessman from Mumbai, Jaydev Mody gained 65 percent stake in the club taking from Dattaraj Salgaocar and Shrinivas Dempo.

"What FC Goa is, is a result of a lot of work that Dattaraj (Salgaocar) and (Shrinivas) Dempo did. They stayed with us in the good and bad moments. They always stood by our side and always fulfilled what they were able to do. I cheer their friendship. They left their mark with us and we will always keep them in our hearts. With Mr. (Jaydev) Mody, I hope that we have very good moments together. We (Brazil) have a good chance because this is a good team. It is a question mark about the squad because this is the first time they will play together. Brazil played a friendly match against Japan. Maybe we have a great chance because the other teams are also not the best. It's a great opportunity for us to get the gold this time," said Zico to the media.
