The newly engaged head of the South American nation's governing body has avouched to have the Argentine skipper’s ban chopped.
On this Wednesday Claudio Tapia has elected as a new president of the Argentine football association.
In the year of 2014 long-standing Argentine president, Julio Grondona died as a replacement for him Luis Segura was elected at that time but he resigned from the job when he was charged with a fraud in June 2016.
On Wednesday the Argentine governing body got their new president Tapia who got 40 votes out of 43 votes on his side.
After winning the election Tapia said: "I thank all those who worked to reach this moment,"
"It is necessary that each of the leaders join us in this democracy.
And the New president took his time and talk about the Messi’s four-match ban, and now only four matches are left in the South American qualifiers, Argentina is in a danger of missing out on the world cup.
He said: “Messi doesn't need to worry,”
“We will do whatever we can to reduce his suspension – it's unfair.”
