The officials of Kolkata giants have said they had the provision to pay the entry fee of ISL but They opted to do so on principal.

On this Monday the head officials of two clubs had said that will not join the Indian super league though they have the capital with them as they have doubts about the league’s format and structure.

After the Federation Cup end in May with that last season’s domestic season end with it, there was speculation were going on that the giants of Indian football Bengaluru FC, East Bengal & Mohun Bagan will join to the reshape of Indian super league.

Bengaluru Fc and East Bengal Fc picked up the legitimate documents for new teams.

But Bengaluru Fc joined the revamped version of Indian super league but the two Kolkata giants do not want to pay such a huge amount of fee to IMG-Reliance owned league.

Debashis Dutta the financial secretary of Mohun Bagan said: "We had the financial capability of paying the franchise fees, but we didn't want to pay it on principle. We are not against the ISL, but the AIFF should have a proper plan and structure in place,"

He said East Bengal was also b their side in this decision.

The financial secretary of Mohun Bagan said they want to hold the Kolkata derby to the Salt Lake stadium which is the home ground of Atletico De Kolkata, In this upcoming season ISL and I league will be held at one time so there are no doubts that Kolkata giants can play their matches in that stadium.

He added: "We want the Mohun Bagan-East Bengal I-League Derby to be played at the Salt Lake Stadium. Not only that, we also want to play some of our key matches at that venue. We will be taking up the matter with state sports minister Aroop Biswas soon,"

"If the stadiums are full when Bagan or East Bengal play, that will send a message to the AIFF and the ISL. They will perhaps then understand the legacy of these two clubs,"
