CONFIRMED: CHELSEA HAS OFFICALLY SIGNED MARCOS ALONSO

Chelsea has officially signed Fiorentina left-back Marcos Alonso in a fee of around £23 million on the deadline day. The former Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland full-back has penned five-year with the Antonio Conte's side.

Antonio Conte showed a very late interest over the left back Marcos Alonso, thought Fiorentina denied such reports and the club itself made the announcement on Wednesday that the 25-year-old left-back has been sold to the London club.

"I'm very happy. It's a step up in my career and I think this is the perfect place for me to continue developing. It's time for me to win some titles," Alonso told Chelsea's official website.

"It was an easy decision for me to make when I heard the club were interested in signing me

"My family and close friends know Chelsea is the club I have dreamed about playing for so I'm really excited about the challenge and I'm looking forward to working with my new team-mates." He added.

Chelsea has already loan out Baba Rahman to Schalke, so the newly appointed blue’s boss has to go for the Forentina’s full back. Alonso is a versatile player, can play as both right and left back. Though he need to battle for his place with Cesar Azpilicueta in the starting XI of Conte.
