And the Portuguese man Jose Mourinho, who is currently managing the Premier League giant Manchester United, said on Friday that Leicester City should honor sacked title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri by naming their stadium after him.
Claudio Ranieri's side Leicester City stunned the football world when they won the Premier League last May, having begun the season as 5000-1 outsiders, but have struggled to repeat those heroics in the 2016-17 campaign.
And they are currently 17th in the Premier League table, a point and a place above the bottom three, having lost their past five league matches.
And most importantly Leicester City are the only side in the top four English divisions without a league goal in 2017.
Definitely all these things made the club official to sack the 65-year-old Italian manager Claudio Ranieri on Thursday, nine months after surprises the football world by winning the Premier League last May.
But the Portuguese man Jose Mourinho, who was also sacked by Chelsea in December 2015 having taken the club to the title the season before, said Ranieri has wrote the most beautiful history in the Premier League and Leicester City, should honor Ranieri by naming their stadium after him.
As recently José Mourinho attended a pre-match press conference wearing Manchester United training shirt with 'CR' on it as a 'homage' to Claudio Ranieri and said,
“Ranieri wrote the most beautiful history in the Premier League.”
“He deserves the Leicester stadium to be named ‘Claudio Ranieri Stadium’,”
“I was sacked as a champion (by Chelsea), a giant negative as I thought – peanuts compared to Claudio. He is paying for his success,”
