After the Wednesday match against FC Goa, the Mumbai City FC’s head coach Alexandre Guimaraes was not happy with the Fair Play instructions and also with the refereeing.
The Costa Rican coach Alexandre Guimaraes stated that his team wanted a win against FC Goa which would have helped them take a massive step towards booking a place in the ISL 2016 playoffs.
But after a hard play the match ended with a draw, however, Alexandre Guimaraes acknowledged that the Brazilian legend Zico side too had their chances to win and getting a point from their final away fixture.
As Guimaraes said,
I said yesterday (Tuesday) that both coaches (Zico and me) like to play in the same way and recognise that the time is short to get points. We came here to get three points but go back with one point which still keeps us in the top four. Sometimes we understand that if we cannot win, you should not lose also like we did today. There we a lot of clear chances. We had ours; they had theirs, especially the last one (Julio Cesar).
“I'm not quite happy with the Fair Play instructions. We always respect Fair Play. Today again, the referee (Gamini Nivon Robesh) didn't protect the game. In the first half we had two very good chances but we had to put the ball out.”
And when the Costa Rican man and Mumbai City FC’s boss has been asked to speak on Chhetri’s performance, Guimaraes spoke in the defense of the big name of Indian football as Sunil Chhetri missed a sure chance in the second half,

Guimaraes said,
“He (Sunil Chhetri) is doing fine. It's not easy to come and immediately get in good synchronisation with the other players in terms of movement. He is contributing and I know that as we play more, he is going to improve and sooner or later he will score,”
