The Belgium international and Manchester United’s midfielder Marouane Fellaini, who has scored seven goals in his 73 appearances for the Red Devils was booed by the Manchester United’s fans when the Belgian came on against Tottenham on Sunday.
And the 42-year-old former Wales international and Manchester United’s midfielder was not happy with how Red Devils supporters treated the 29-year-old Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini during Sunday's game with Tottenham,
As in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live, Robbie Savage said,
“Booing your own player, I think that’s an absolute disgrace personally,”
“I was booed by Derby fans. Some people might think it’s great, but you shouldn’t boo your own players.
“Manchester United fans, the majority of them, they know their football.”
The Belgium man Marouane Fellaini gave away a penalty against Everton on Sunday, 4th Dec. to help the home side Everton snatch a late draw, which made the United’s fans furious to boo their own player,
On that the former Wales international Savage has defended the Belgium international, and believes Fellaini has plenty to offer the Red Devils,
Savage added, "He didn't do it on purpose, and I still don't think it was a penalty, I think Idrissa Gueye went down far too easy,”
"I understand why he [Mourinho] brought him on in that game, because eight or nine minutes left, corners or set pieces, he is good defensively." He concluded.
