German giants Bayern Munich told Chelsea they must need to pay £30m to them if they want the service of the German international.
Chelsea is ready to reinforce their defense in this January transfer season.
Under the Italian manager the Blues are looking sharp at this stage in EPL and they are looking to strengthen up their back options in this transfer window, they have indentify the 30 year old German centre back Mats Hummels who is no longer a Munich first xi player under their new manager Nico Kovac.
The defender himself also wants to join the Blues, but the German club has given a deadline of 14th January to the Stamford Birdge side to close this deal so that they can sign his replacement before the transfer window ends.
