Barcelona can cope without Messi: Pique

Football News: The Barcelona wall and their midfielder Evan Rakitic both attempted to downplay the fear of the Catalan giant’s faltering without their prolific man Lionel Messi.

Pique believes that Barcelona can cope without their superstar captain.

Last night the Argentine superstar Lionel Messi suffered from a fractured arm injury in Barcelona’s 4-2 win against Sevilla, and because of that injury, he has to sit outside the line for three weeks.

Last night, in the beginning, he sets up a wonderful ball for Coutinho and after few minutes of that he also registered his name on the scoresheet as well, and in the middle of the halftime he landed heavily on his right arm and left the pitch in pain.

Messi will miss the next EL Clasico against Real Madrid and also their Champions League match against Inter Milan as well.

But the Barcelona defender Gerard Pique believes that as a team they have enough depth in their side to come out on top even without the little magician.

Pique stated: "Psychologically we know that when he is there we are stronger but we cannot allow his absence to affect us,"

"It makes a big difference to have or not to have him but we have enough cover so as not to worry about whether he is there or not."

So far in this season, Lionel Messi has scored seven La Liga goals and 12 in all competitions for Barcelona, and yet another season he is proving himself the key man for the Catalan giants.
