Barca news says this season the Catalan giants targeted the Liverpool superstar Coutinho as their main targets but they fail to crack the deal.

Barca director Albert Soler said they tried to sign the Brazilian superstar Coutinho on the deadline day but the Reds (Liverpool) demanded €200 million for the youngster.

In this transfer season, the PSG side persuades the Barcelona superstar Neymar to their squad for a world record deal of €222m after Neymar’s departure the Barca side made Coutinho their prime target to fill the gap for Neymar.

Barcelona side made several bids for the Brazilian superstar this season but Liverpool rejected all the bids through the Brazilian superstar Coutinho himself made a transfer request to the Liverpool side in order to get a move to the Camp No side.

This season so far Coutinho did not make single appearances for the Liverpool side in any of their matches but in his country’s last match against Ecuador he come off the bench and scored a goal for this country in the World cup qualifiers.

In the dying moments of the transfer window, Barcelona tried to sign the attacker but Liverpool put a €200m price tag on the superstar.

Barcelona director said: "After weeks of negotiations, yesterday Liverpool asked us for €200m for the player,"

"We have always worked with the mission not to put at risk the heritage and the viability of the club which is owned by the members.

"The fact that PSG came up with €222m [for Neymar] caused everyone to know that the club had money. When you go to the market and clubs know that you have a lot of money, the requests were exorbitant."
