According to former Barcelona goalkeeper, Andre Ter Stegen Neymar’s world record move to PSG only served Barcelona stronger.

Neymar’s departure was perceived as a crisis at Barcelona, as after his departure Madrid thrashed Barca in the Supercopa de Espana.

However, the new Barcelona coach has lead Barcelona to a serene march towards  La Liga glory this season, as the Catalan giants are unbeaten in their 24 league games and they are sitting at the top comfortably in the La Liga table.

Though the departure of Neymar has broken up the striker force of “MSN” though, Ter Stegen believes that whole team has stepped up their game after the latter left.

In an interview to ESPN, Ter Stegen said: "The quality of Ney, you can't explain it,"

"Because he was super important for us, as a person [and] in the team, as a footballer.

"Now, everyone needs to understand what he did because maybe he wants to win something else, also personally.

"His decision only he knows but in the end we had to compensate all this and this is not easy because he had so much quality, but we did it in a different way and now we have a very, very strong team.

"I think we've got some new players who have made us even stronger and hopefully they feel good and comfortable in the team and they adapt very fast."

These season after the departure of Neymar, to compensate him Barcelona drafted Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho from Dortmund and Liverpool.

Both the pairs cost Barcelona more over €300m, but Ter Stegen says that both the players need some time to fill the boot of the Brazilian.

Ter Stegen added: "Dembele didn't play very often because he was injured [and] Coutinho just came,"

"We always need to give them time and be patient because they are young and they have some great years ahead."
