Liverpool and Arsenal are the two clubs in the Premier League who are looking for new goalkeepers during the summer transfer window.
Football news: Atletico Madrid expects either of Liverpool or Arsenal to approach for Oblak
It is evident for the Reds to look for a new shot-stopper as their current goalie Loris Karius’ two mistakes cost them this year’s Champions League glory.
Arsenal is also looking for a new goalie as Petr Cech, their current shot-stopper, has reached the twilight of his career.
Although the Slovenia international was previously linked with Paris Saint-Germain, now Spanish website El Gol believes that both Arsenal and Liverpool are fighting to secure the services of Jan Oblak.
PSG has left the race as they are approaching a deal with the Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon. The Italian veteran had previously left Juventus in search of a new challenge before hanging up his gloves.
Atletico Madrid have already made their mind to prepare their life without their No. 1. Coach Diego Simeone is reportedly preparing to bring in Kepa Arrizabalaga for a €80 million release clause as a replacement.
Arrizabalaga was expected to join the Bernabeu in the January transfer window but lated snubbed his move in favour of the San Memes Stadium.
When Oblak was asked where he would like to see himself in the future, he ruled out any possibility of joining Liverpool or Arsenal.
"No news. I have the contract that I signed two years ago," Oblak said. "What will happen well nobody knows, not even me. I prefer to finish the season well and hopefully with a title. Then we'll see but I have a contract. I do not think of anything other than Atletico."
