ARSENAL WAS ALWAYS MY FIRST CHOICE: OZIL

The German international and Arsenal FC’s midfielder Mesut Ozil has recently admitted in an interview that the EPL club Arsenal had been always his first choice and he always wanted to be the part of the club.

The 28-year-old World Cup winner moved to the Emirates Stadium in 2013 for £42.5 million after completing his three year contract with Spanish giant Real Madrid and helped the English side club to win the FA Cup 2013–14, 2014–15, FA Community Shield 2015 and has already made 88 appearances with 18 goals for the Arsene Wenger side,

Recently the World Cup winner revealed that even after playing in some big European clubs, his first choice was always Arsenal as he always wanted to be a part of some Arsenal’s great players like [Thierry] Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Robert Pires.

And the current Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger made it possible for Ozil to join the English giant Arsenal in 2013; just hours after Real Madrid paid £86 million to sign the Wales international Gareth Bale from Tottenham.

As Ozil told Arsenal's YouTube channel.

"I spoke with Wenger and he wanted me at Arsenal. I said 'if I get the opportunity to change clubs, you'll be the first [choice]',"

"So we spoke and I decided to come. I remember [Thierry] Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Robert Pires – such great players – and I wanted to be a part of them.”

"My first and second year we won the FA Cup. I really enjoy playing for such a big club like Arsenal."

Recently the German international scored a late winner against Ludogorets to clinch the English side Arsenal a place in the Champions League knockout phase.
