The former England international striker Alan Shearer still believes that Manchester City’s star striker Sergio Aguero is the only truly elite player in the top flight, even after the Chilean international and Arsenal star's magical display against West Ham, where Alexis Sanchez scored a hat-trick for Arsene Wenger side to thrash West Ham by 5-1.
But that magical display by the Arsenal’s forward still was not enough to convince the former England international Alan Shearer to say that the Chilean is a world-class player.
As when Alan Shearer has been asked by Gary Lineker on the BBC's 'Match of the Day’ whether he thinks the Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez is world class,
Shearer says, "What I would say is, Arsenal are a much better team this year because of him.”
"And, I would also ask Arsene Wenger, if he is world class, why has he taken two years to play him centre forward?"
Previously the former England international Shearer named the Argentine and Manchester City’s forward Sergio Aguero as the only world class player that Premier League have, after the Argentine scored two in Manchester City's 4-0 win over West Brom.
But speaking on Match of the Day at the time, Shearer did concede that, if Sanchez helps Arsenal to win the title this season, Sanchez would be up there with him (Sergio Aguero).
