Royal Challengers Bangalore finally went over the line and recorded their first win of IPL 2019. After losing six games in a row, Virat Kohli and Co. had their backs to the wall.

They faced the Kings XI Punjab at Mohali in a do-or-die encounter. RCB won the toss and elected to field first. They did pretty well as they managed to contain KXIP to 173, despite Chris Gayle’s blistering 99*.

Skipper Virat Kohli took matters in his own hands during the chase as he scored 67 off 53 balls. He was ably supported by AB de Villiers (59* off 38 balls). These knocks along with a handy cameo from Marcus Stoinis led RCB to victory by 8 wickets.

Celebrations started among the fans after the much-awaited win. The players also looked relieved to see their campaign up and running. To cherish this beautiful moment, Kohli and ABD decided to record a special video for all the fans and thanked them for their relentless support.

The video started with skipper Kohli saying, “To all our loyal fans, who have been with the team, standing behind us for six games. I think this goes out to them more than the players because of the support over so many years and especially this year has been so tough. So, we are more happy for the fans and we want to dedicate this victory to you.”

De Villiers, who was announced the Man of the Match for his match-winning knock, then added the rest in the video. He said:

“To all the RCBians out there around the world, we are exceptionally relieved with a win finally. We crossed the line and hopefully, that’s a sign of things to come. We know it’s going to be a lot of hard work but going by the way we set up this game tonight, hopefully, we’ll do the same thing in Mumbai at the Wankhede stadium and who knows what can happen? Miracles have happened before. We are definitely committed to doing something special but one step at a time. Thanks for being there for us.”
