Former Windies Captain Believes Kohli Has Got Everything That Kapil and Dhoni Had

Current Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be shouldering the dreams of billions of Indians when he leads the team in the 2019 World Cup.

Because of the recent form of the Men in Blue, fans are expecting a third World Cup win. Moreover the skipper’s run spree have also made the fans to see the dreams.

While many believe that India can win the title, they are however divided on Kohli’s leadership skills. they are mainly divided on two questions:-

Is Kohli too aggressive to do a Kapil Dev of 1983? Or can he become Mahendra Singh Dhoni of 2011?

Former Windies skipper Darren Sammy has his faith on Kohli. He believes that the 30-year-old skipper that achieve the fame of his predecessors.

“With the World Cup being played every four years, he has to win the World Cup next year. I am not sure if he will be around when during 2024 (2023) edition. But I am sure he has the qualities to win India the World Cup,” Sammy, 34, was quoted as saying by India Today.

Team India is currently ranked at No. 2 in the ICC ODI Rankings. The hosts England, who sit at the top, are also favourites to win the title.

The Men in Blue are currently finding their right combination for the mega-event. India’s World Cup journey will begin against South Africa at Rose Bowl in Southampton on June 5 next year.

Kohli has also shown that captaincy doesn’t affect his batting. In the previous series against the Windies, he scored three consecutive centuries.
