Ronaldo’s Unhappiness at Madrid and Admiration for Juventus

The future of Cristiano Ronaldo is once again at stake as the Italian side Juventus are planning to take the record goal-scorer of the European Cup to Turin.

Football news: Juventus has offered a contract of €100million for Ronaldo to Los Blancos

Juventus has suffered at the hands of Ronaldo in the recent seasons but there is a mutual admiration between both the parties as the club desire to taste European success while the player has liked the Italian club since his childhood days.

In early April in the quarter-final of the Champions League, Ronaldo scored a brace in a 3-0 win over Juventus at the Allianz Arena, which included a stunning overhead kick.

That goal gained much applause among the home fans, except the fact that it was the same player who broke their hearts less than 12 months ago by scoring two goals against them in the Champions League final at Cardiff.

Speaking of the warm ovation he received after the goal, Ronaldo admitted, "That was one of the nicest moments I've had this evening.”

"For people to applaud me at a stadium like that of Juventus, where they've had great players and where they have great players, is a top moment. I’m very happy and excited because this has always been a club that I've liked since I was a little boy.

"For them to applaud you, that stays in your heart.

"I have to thank all of the Italians who were here in the stadium and who applauded me. Grazie!"

The admittance came just after three months when the 33-year Portuguese superstar had hit out on the fact that the Madrid board is devaluing him and his efforts he has made for the club.

Madrid has been attached with the move for Neymar before the Brazilian broke his foot. There were also talks that some Madrid players might be shown the door to cope with the transfer money for Neymar.

Suddenly there came a news that the Los Blancos side would be happy to part ways with Ronaldo for €100million (£88m), as the Portuguese was struggling with his form in the first half of the season.

To this report Ronaldo commented, "If I'm worth 100 million euros it's because they don't love me.” According to a sports website Marca, that was the beginning of the end.

Ronaldo later improved his form in the second half of the season, scoring crucial goals and taking his side to a third successive Champions League glory.

After the 3-1 win against Liverpool, Ronaldo used the perfect moment and created a new narrative declaring, "It was nice to be at Madrid."

Later he admitted that, "When you hold on and hold on, when you have a heart and you’re honest, sometimes you lose control."

Even Madrid President Florentino Perez did not say anything to appease Ronaldo. Rather his own comments added fuel to the fire.

Perez said, “Now is not the time for individual issues; the club is more important than anyone. “I am glad he has five European Cups, like me. The same thing is heard every summer and then nothing happens.”

That was the moment when the bluff of Ronaldo was finally called and everybody thought that there would be no club prepared to pay a huge sum for a player who is at his autumn of his career other than Real Madrid.

But recently Juventus has come up with a mouth-watering deal which would give the Portuguese superstar a four year deal worth £26.5million per year.

It was a deal broken between Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes and Juve power-brokers Fabio Paretic and Beppe Marotta, and the Italian club is getting confident enough to sign the deal.

But they must be aware of the fact that Ronaldo has previously many times threatened to leave Madrid just to remain there instead. So it will be Ronaldo’s next words which will finally seal his career.
