Neymar Still Seeks Full Fitness

Although Neymar was instrumental in scoring the opening goal in a friendly match against Croatia at Anfield, he is still seeking full recovery and is striving to get fully fit.

Football news: Despite scoring the opener, Neymar believes he is not fully fit

Neymar was side-lined three months ago with a broken foot while playing for Paris Saint-Germain in the French League. After his return to the field and scoring a superb goal, Neymar says that he is at “80 per cent”.

Coach Tite’s men were playing a friendly warm-up game against Croatia for the upcoming world cup where Brazil’s talisman Neymar opened the scoring in a 2-0 win game.

Neymar dribbled past a trio of defenders and his thumping shot ended in the back of the net after hitting the inside of the crossbar. The goal showed that the PSG star was at his best.

But Neymar is still insisting on the fact that he is not totally fit and can add to the injury which he received mid-season and was ruled out for the later phase of the domestic season.

"It's been three months since the injury," Neymar told reporters post-match.

"To be back to do what I love the most, which is to play football, and even score a goal… I'm very happy.

"But I still have some fear, a certain fear, but little by little, with each training session, I'm letting myself go.

"Let's see what the week's training will be like. Little by little I'm getting better. I'm happy for today.

"I still feel a little uncomfortable, but it's normal because I've stayed a long time without stepping on the pitch.

"I'm 80 per cent."
