Manchester United News: we would end this season at the 4th place -Mourinho

This season the Champions League is the highest priority for the special one and he is not overly concern about the position he secures in EPL.

The Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is optimistic that Manchester United can hold onto their second spot in this season, but he sees no difference in finishing the season in the fourth position on the table or ended as runners-up.

This season for the most of the time Manchester United hold to their second spot just behind the EPL league leader Manchester City, and now they look well placed to get a spot in the next season’s Champions League.

Though Manchester United faced two defeats in their last four domestic games and that allowed the Reds(Liverpool) to close down the gap with them but in their last EPL match, they defeated the reigning champions league by 2-1 goals and that gives them a healthy gap over Chelsea.

The special one is aiming to finish at the second spot this season but now these days he believes there is no huge difference between finish at the second spot or in the fourth spot in terms of Money or prestige.

In an interview, Mourinho voiced: "The gap is a very short gap,"

"Six points between second and fifth is really, really short and open for everybody, but all four are in the Champions League still, so we have other focus, other targets.

"I have to say, all of us very good teams, in spite of sometimes the way I read it looks like all the others are better than us, but I'm not sure that's the reality. So, I would say there are four very good teams and one will be out of the Champions League.

"If you ask me second or fourth, I say by the financial point of view it doesn't make a difference, by the prestige point of view it doesn't make a difference. You go to Champions League and the fourth [placed team] doesn't even now have to play the last qualification.

"But, by the personal point of view second is better than third, so we are going to try the best possible.

"Of course, the top four is very difficult and that's the main target for us, but if you can finish second we won't finish third."
