Virat Kohli to Play County Cricket over the Historic Test

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is set to play county cricket for Surrey in June ahead of away series in England. As per the reports in PTI, Virat kohli will miss out the historic Test against Afghanistan in June. Virat will be heading to South of London after IPL with the intention to improve his batting performance in England.

“Virat (Kohli) will be playing for a division one county side for sure. I wouldn’t like to add anything more to it. There were talks with Surrey and Essex,” a senior BCCI official quoted by PTI .

The reports suggest that the Superstar batsman is determine to improve his records in England. Virat Kohli had dominated across the global with his batting but somehow failed to create an impact in England, as his average of just 13.40 with 134 runs in five Test matches previously.  

If the reports are true, Virat Kohli will be the first Indian to play for Surrey and it further suggests the 29-year-old will be playing 3 four-day matches against Hampshire, Somerset and Yorkshire between June 9 and June 28.

Not just Virat Kohli, India’s Cheteshwar Pujara and pacer Ishant Sharma will also be the part of country cricket as it will give all them a good preparation ahead of the England tour. Pujara and Ishant will represent Yorkshire and Sussex respectively.
