The game between Chennai and Minerva featured numerous missed opportunities at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.
The Indian international shot stopper Karanjit Singh, who is currently playing for the Chennai City's had a stellar game in goal keeping out several of Minerva's attempts. But his side Chennai City came closest to finding the net and will rue their missed chances in either half as they settled for a point.
Chennai City FC’s Lalnun Mawia in the first half and Marcos Tank in the final few minutes of the game have missed some golden opportunities to give a lead to Chennai City.
On the other side the first North Indian side to play I-league in the last five years since JCT Punjab pulled out from the competition in 2011, the Minerva Punjab FC, to their credit, also attacked well, were solid at the back and would have had a goal to their name, but there was Karanjit Singh, who was stopping every shot of the Minerva’s strikers like a wall.
Overall, both of debutante gave their best in their first ever I-league games, but the game between them featured numerous missed opportunities at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, which led to a goalless draw match.
