The former Arsenal attacker believes that under the Spaniard coach the young English defender John Stones can become one of the world’s best defenders.

This season the Manchester City side brought the English defender to their squad from the Everton side for £50million.

Stones have had an uncertain first season with the Sky Blues side as a part of the shaky defense that they managed to keep just 16 clean sheets in their 49 matches.

But the two times premier league champion Campbell believes that the Spanish coach is the right man who can take him to his greatness.

He said: "He's a wonderful player and I think he's got one of the best managers in the world to teach him and guide him through the pitfalls of football,"

"He's lucky that he's there and definitely he's benefitting from having better players around him.

"I think his decision-making will get better in time. Playing in tournaments will allow him to get better. I think his future is bright and long may he continue learning.

"He's got environments, the manager and the players around him to hopefully make him into one of the best defenders in the world in time."

This season under the Spanish coach the 22-year-old has managed to make 40 appearances for them but they missed their last match against the Southampton side.
