5 IPL Performers Likely To Get Selected For Ireland, England T20Is

The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League has halfway been completed. After the domestic tournament comes to an end, India will go for a long tour in the United Kingdom where they will face England (5 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is) and Ireland (2 T20Is).

The BCCI selectors, who will converge to select a team in Bengaluru on Tuesday (May 8), will have an opportunity to select players from the current IPL season for the 5 T20 International matches.

In this way, the current core Indian team can focus on the ODIs and Tests, while the promising players in the IPL will get a reward for their performances.

1. Ambati Rayudu

The 32-year-old CSK player is having the most crucial and productive IPL so far this season. He is the current holder of the Orange cap, as he has scored 423 runs in 10 matches with a strike rate of 151.

Along with his form his ability of being a floater has gained accolades from many critics. He has been in top form, both as an opener as well as a middle-order batsman.

It is likely that his form in this season will continue, and if does so, he can be the player who can solve the worry of No. 4 in the Indian side across the ODI and T20 format.

2. Krunal Pandya

It is just mere bad luck for the elder Pandya brother for not being called up yet for the national side, despite his year-after-year good performance for Mumbai Indians.

He has proved from time to time that he can be a good finisher with the bat and can also strike with the ball in the powerplay and middle overs.

If he gets selected, he can be a reliable player as India can go with a six-bowler option, as well as a batsman who can come in at No. 6 or 7 and score some quick runs.

3. Siddarth Kaul

From the previous season of IPL, Kaul has impressed everyone. In the previous season he had taken 16 wickets from 10 games, whicle in this season he has already picked up 12 wickets.

Over the years Kaul has improved his bowling massively and has added many variations to his bowling, especially with the way he disguises his knuckle ball delivery.

Kaul can be tried for the T20 side as both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah will have a busy schedule with the ODIs and Tests over the next 12 months.

4. Risabh Pant

Pant was considered for two T20s in 2017 after his successful 2019 U-19 World Cup campaign. He has also played another two T20s, but could not do much.

However he has been playing some amazing cricket this IPL season as he has already scored 393 runs in 10 games, which might give him another shot for the national side.

5. Suryakumar Yadav

The 27-year-old Mumbai Indians batsman is having a terrific season with the bat as he has already scored 399 runs from 10 games.

From those 10 games, he has opened the Mumbai innings in eight occasions and has smashed four half-centuries which also included a 47-ball 72.

With a strike rate of 131.81 this season, Suryakumar Yadav can fit in well as a back-up option for the opening slot.
