The Catalan giants confirm the signing of the former AC Milan man Kevin Prince Boateng on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Boateng joins Barcelona on a shock loan deal with an option to buy.
The Ghana international joined the Serie A side Sassuolo for £1.8m but now he joined Barcelona on a loan from the Serie A club for the rest of the season, where Barcelona have the option to buy him on £7.1m after the end of the season.
After this Barcelona move, before boarding a plane to Barcelona, Boateng voiced: “It’s a very sad day. Because I’m saying goodbye to an amazing group and club like Sassuolo that gave me a lot,”
“Going to Barcelona is a huge opportunity and an incredible feeling. I was very stressed today but I wanted to say goodbye to everyone, I respect Sassuolo.
“I remember my debut [with AC Milan] in the Gamper trophy against Barca, and the emotions run high…”
This will be his second debut in La Liga, earlier in 2016/17 season he played for Las Palmas and scored 10 goals for them in the league in his 28 appearances.
After this move the Ghanian international facing some backlash from the Catalan fans as earlier in a interview he said he would love to play for Rea Madrid than Barcelona.
About this he stated: “My pro-Real Madrid video from the past? It’s old stuff, I’m very focused on Barca. I’ll be hoping to score in the Clasico at the Bernabeu,”
