Long Streak of Virat Kohli Comes To an End

Indian skipper Virat Kohli had failed in the previous England outing and so this time he has a point to prove to the world that he can do well in the English conditions, and honestly he is performing quite well.

Cricket news: Adil Rashid bowled Kohli in the series decider yesterday

India won the T20I series and started on a good note in the first ODI too as they totally destroyed England and won the first ODI.

England came back in the second ODI and the series was levelled before going into the last game at Leeds which was also won by the Brits as they won the ODI series 2-1.

England started the series decider on a fantastic note as they restricted the visitors to 256 runs. The pitch was slow and dry and it was a heaven for wrist spinners.

England’s leg-spinner Adil Rashid made the most of the opportunity as he registered figures of 3/49 and completely destroyed the Indian innings.

Rashid took the wickets of Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik and Suresh Raina and in that process ended a unviable record which was attached to Kohli’s name.

Rashid bowled an absolute ripper of a delivery which pitched on the middle and leg stump and turned quickly to knock Kohli’s off stump.

Kohli totally misjudged the trajectory of the ball and missed the ball while playing on his backfoot. With that dismissal it was the first time a leg-spinner had bowled Kohli in One Day International cricket.

This fact shows Kohli’s outstanding prowess against slow spinners. Indian batsmen have always been good at playing spin, but Kohli had mastered the art over the years especially against the white ball.
