Zinedine Zidane reappointed as a Madrid manager after the club officials held a board meeting on this Monday evening regarding the ongoing issue at the Spanish club, now in his current contract he is tied up with Madrid until 2022.
This season the Madrid side has endured calamitous season so far, first they appointed the former Spanish national coach Julen Lopetegui, and in his stint Madrid failed miserably and then after him they appointed their former youth coach Santiago Solari to stop the rot in Madrid, at first it seems that the Argentine manager just able to do that,
But their two defeats against their eternal rivals Barcelona and their shock exit from the Champions league against Ajax ended their hope of any silverware this season and prompting the move for another managerial shake up.
It is understood that Madrid had been in force to take their decision to appoint Mourinho,as their first choice Zidane was unwilling to join Madrid where things are not in a place right now.
After further communication with the Madrid President Florentino Perez Zidane has been convinced to join following having big say in squad selection and a large amount of sum for the summer investment.
A statement that the club has published: “The board of directors of Real Madrid, meeting today, Monday, March 11, 2019, has decided to terminate the contract that linked Santiago Solari with the club as coach of the first team.
“Real Madrid appreciates the work done by Santiago Solari and the commitment and loyalty he has always shown to this institution.
“The board of directors has also agreed the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the new coach of Real Madrid with immediate incorporation for the remainder of the season and the next three – until June 30, 2022.
“The president of Real Madrid will appear today with Zinedine Zidane before the media at 8:00pm (CET) in the press room of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.”
