Indian opener KL Rahul had a worst couple of years. He had almost no runs under his belt and lacked serious amount of consistency. However he has finally scored back-to-back half-centuries and has announced his returning to form.

With his performance he has given a strong case for his selection in the World Cup squad. Rahul is currently captaining the India A side against England Lions for the unofficial Test series.

Rahul scored 89 runs off 192 balls in the first Test. However that game ended in a draw. He followed his knock with a beautiful 81 runs off 166 balls on Wednesday. He gave his team a good start in the second Test and continued his good form.

In his knock of 81, Rahul struck eleven boundaries and stitched a partnership of 178 runs with Abhimanyu Easwaran (117). After Rahul got out, Priyank Panchal (50) added 74 runs with Easwaran for the second wicket. India posted 282 for loss of three wickets at the end of Wednesday’s play.
