It is harder to win La Liga than Champions league: Zidane

Football News: The French head honcho Zidane believes that winning the European championship is much easier than maintaining performance in the league season.

Winning the European competition is easy enough.

On this Sunday Madrid will take on against the Barcelona in the La Liga, as Zidane Believes that winning their domestic trophy is more difficult than winning the Champions league trophy.

This season Madrid is sitting at the third spot in the table, they are 15 points shorter than their arch rivals Barcelona, though they are preparing for the European final against Liverpool after defeating Bayern Munich in the Semi Finals.

Zidane thinks maintaining the performance for the 38 games in the league is more difficult than lifting the Champions league silverware.

Zidane voiced: "It's more difficult. I've always said that: it's more difficult,"

This season Barcelona crowned as La Liga champions but in the Camp Nou they will not get the Guard of Honor from Madrid, despite it is the tradition of applauding the title winners.

About this the Madrid manager added: "After the Club World Cup, it wasn't important for them to give us a guard of honour,"

"It's said that they weren't in the competition, but that's not true. You get into it through the Champions League. They didn't give us one.

"What's most important is respecting what they've done: They've won the double and I respect that, and I congratulate them on that. We're not going to do something they didn't do."
