India close to big defeat after Cook and Root smashed hundred

Cricket News: The southpaw Alastair Cook has marked his 291st and his final test in a fairytale fashion with a ton and now with England close to their fourth win of the fifth test on Monday.

India is in disarray with a burden of 464 runs on their shoulder.

Yesterday the 33-year-old made 147 and build the partnership of 259 runs with the English captain Joe Root and on the base of their partnership, England moves from114-2 to423-8.

Last day he receives a standing ovation from the oval crowd,  he is England’s most capped test player and highest run scorer, after his wonderful ton, he climbed up to fifth on the all-time test run scorers.

The English captain Joe Root also scored a wonder 125 in 190 balls.

The new Indian boy, the part-time off-spinner Hanuma Bihari picked up Root and Cook in consecutive deliveries,

England set a mammoth target of 464 runs, and to chase down that target India lost their three crucial wickets in just two runs, with Anderson removed Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara in his second over, and just after that Stuart Broad picked up the crucial wicket of Virat Kohli.

The 36-year-old James Anderson is one wicket short to surpass the 563 of Glenn Mcgrath and become the most successful fast bowler in test format.

At this stage, India is looking demoralized as their hopes of salvaging the last test is very keen with the scoreboard of 58-3.
