Twitter Trolls Paine For Asking Vijay If He Likes Kohli

The banter between the Australian and Indian players are still going on in the ongoing Perth Test. The Aussies have set a target of 287 before they got bundled out in the post-lunch session on Day 4.

India would not have a easy Day 5 as the pith is already cracking and spitting venom. Moreover to make matters worse, their second innings in a worst possible way.

KL Rahul’s bad form continued as he looked hapless in the middle. Cheteswar Pujara also got out early which left India reeling at 13/2. Murali Vijay and skipper Virat Kohli stepped out in the middle to control the damage.

This is when the Aussies saw the perfect opportunity to play their mind games. Their skipper Tim Paine started the proceedings as he started talking to Murali Vijay.

Paine started making it tough for Vijay to score runs. Earlier in the day, Paine was on the receiving end from Kohli. The Indian skipper continuously chirped into the ears of his counterpart and even had a physical altercation.

Paine decided to indirectly return the favour to his counterpart. While Nathan Lyon was bowling, Paine asked Vijay if he likes Kohli- the captain, as a human being.

He further went on to assume that the Indian opener wouldn’t like his skipper. “Murali, I know he’s your captain. But you can’t seriously like him as a bloke,” Paine was heard saying to Vijay on the stump mic during the third session at the Optus Stadium.

Here is the video of the sledging:

Vijay turned deaf ear to all the banter behind. However it was actually interesting to see Paine fired up. This is because the Aussie captain is known to be a nice guy around.

However no one expected the series to be a quiet affair, mostly because of the intensity of the games. Soon after the incident both Kohli and Vijay were dismissed.

India are currently behind by 175 runs and Australia will have to pick just 5 wickets. At this scenario, it seems the hosts are well ahead and it will be just a matter of time before they level the series.

However on the other hand, the Indian fans were quick to troll Tim Paine on social media after the incident.
