Currently Australian legendary captain Ricky Ponting holds the record of most number of centuries as a captain which is 22. However this record also doesn’t look too far from the Indian skipper.
Kohli has currently 17 centuries up his sleeve as the skipper. This means that Kohli will need just 6 centuries more to surpass the great Aussie. Everyone knows that scoring a century is a tough task. But with Kohli’s reputation, he has the ability to break this record this year.
Moreover India has many ODI games this year, which also includes the 2019 World Cup. As a result it will give Kohli a lot of chances to break this record. Once he does so, he will also become the first Indian captain to score 20 or more ODI centuries.
