The match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings saw a total turnaround. When everything seemed fine for CSK during MI’s innings, out came Hardik Pandya and his blazing bat.
The all-rounder scored a quick-fire 25 off just eight deliveries. He and Kieron Pollard added 45 runs in the last two overs and took the home team’s score to 170. This ended up being the difference as CSK lost the match by 37 runs.
However apart from the win, the talk of the town was Hardik Pandya’s helicopter shot. He hit it in the final over of the innings. The shot was invented by veteran MS Dhoni. Many have tried to execute it but had failed to do it with perfection.
However Hardik’s case was different as he was totally spot on. Death-overs specialist Dwayne Bravo bowled a perfect yorker at the stumps. But Hardik was deep in the crease and easily managed to get under the ball.
He used his wrists and dispatched the ball over mid-wicket for a massive six. Seeing the perfect execution of helicopter shot, Dhoni was surprised rather stunned. However he had a worried reaction on his face but deep down he would be impressed seeing Hardik manage to hit the shot perfectly.

Hardik reveals his feeling about the shot
The all-rounder was seen practicing the helicopter shot before the beginning of the tournament. He also posted a video of it in the social media. On Wednesday he executed the shot perfectly in front of his idol.
Speaking about the incident, the Man of the Match cheekily added that he was rather hoping Dhoni would come and congratulate him. “Special to hit helicopter shot with MS Dhoni watching. Hoped MS would congratulate me after that shot,” Hardik said to iplt20.com after the match.
