in 2016 U19 World Cup, a Jharkhand keeper-batsman became the skipper. In his first outing, Ishan led his team to the finals. After that he scored 273 against Delhi in the Ranji trophy in 2016-17.
He was picked by Gujarat Lions and instantly gained fame. Later in 2018, he was bought by Mumbai Indiansand scored a breathtaking 62 off 21 balls against KKR. But before that in 2016, Dhoni decided to practice his skills in the domestic Vijay Hazare trophy.
Dhoni became the skipper of Jharkhand and led them to glory. During that time Ishan was finding his feet and improved a lot under MSD’s guidance. One can never forget the 53 off 40 balls with the help of 5 sixes in a low-scoring game against Saurashtra. In total Ishan played 7 games under Dhoni’s captaincy.
