In the recently concluded Test series against Bangladesh, Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson injured himself. Even the national team didn’t take any chance of playing him with a sore shoulder.
As a result there were doubts lingering over his participation in the IPL. There was no clarity whether the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad will play this season or not. However the franchises has now revealed a great news of relief.
They have recently announced that Williamson will join the team on March 22, just one day before the tournament starts. Kane will be accompanied by his teammate Martin Guptill. They will board the flight to India after the New Zealand Cricket Awards.

SRH will begin their campaign against KKR
Kane’s arrival is a huge news for SRH’s fans as he was the highest run-getter in the previous season. Kane’s team SRH has now got a huge boost before their opening match against KKR at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. Although there is still doubt whether Williamson will play the match straightaway or not.
Williamson played a huge role for SRH in the previous season. He deservedly got the Orange Cap of the tournament. Unfortunately he failed to win the title as they lost the final to Chennai Super Kings.
It will be interesting to see if Williamson replicates his form in this season or not. Even Martin Guptill will be looking to play a big role in the later part of the tournament. This is because most of the players will be leaving the camps for their preparation ahead of the World Cup.
