RCB Bring Dale Steyn To Replace Nathan Coulter-Nile

IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore have strengthened their pace bowling department. They have signed the South African veteran speedster Dale Steyn among their ranks.

Steyn has replaced the Aussie speedster Nathan Coulter-Nile. The Aussie was expected to join RCB soon after the ODI series against Pakistan ended. But he started suffering from a stiff back.

This created speculations that Coulter-Nile might not take part in the IPL.Later ESPNCricinfo confirmed the news of Dale Steyn joining the camps of RCB. Steyn had previously gone unsold in the December auction.

He is making a comeback in the Indian Premier League after a gap of two years. He last played only a single match for Gujarat Lions in 2016. Moreover Steyn is also making a comeback to the RCB side, for who he has played 28 matches between 2008 and 2010.

RCB’s next assignment will be against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. However it is still unknown that whether Steyn will play the game or not. So far RCB has lost all the six games they have played and more so because of their poor bowling.

However with full fitness, Steyn is breathing fire once again. As a result he can be a timely boost for the RCB franchise. Skipper Kohli will certainly want Steyn to be included in the playing XI.

Recently Steyn has made a good comeback for his country and is performing pretty well. He might be named in South Africa’s World Cup squad which will be announced on April 18.

As a result Steyn would be looking to strengthen his case by performing extremely well in the IPL. He will definitely want to impress the selectors with a good performance. Moreover it will be a sense of Deja Vu for Steyn as he has played for RCB before.
