Winning IPL requires a good bunch of Indian players in the squad as well. This is why the franchises keep an eye in the domestic tournaments. Punjab might consider Ankit Bawne as he has been performing consistently at the domestic level.
The right-handed batsman has an average of 52 in first-class cricket and 43 in List-A cricket. The U-23 star was picked by Delhi Daredevils in 2017, but did not get much opportunities.
Ankit recently finished Vijay Hazare Trophy as Maharashtra’s highest run-getter. His inclusion to the Punjab squad can solve their middle-order problem to a large extent.
