The 25-year-old Aussie pacer has been around the tournament for a while. He debuted for Australia at 18 years age and has played 14 Tests, 42 ODIs and 18 T20Is.
Mumbai Indians purchased him for Rs 5.4 crores last year. But he could not play the whole season due to injury. As a result Mumbai released him prior to this season’s auction.
Punjab is in a dire need of a fast bowler. Cummins can give them early breakthroughs and can be useful in death overs. Moreover he can also come in handy with the bat down the order.
