After almost spending two weeks in an atmosphere of grief and sadness, the whole of India woke to a delightful news on Tuesday. On 14 February a suicide bomber attacked a army truck convoy. As a result more than 40 jawans were martyred in the ghastly attack.
In response to that strike IAF reportedly destroyed three terrorist launchpads through airstrike. The reported airstrike took place in Balakot, which is at quite a distance from Line of Control (LoC) and in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
At first there was no official confirmation about the airstrike. Meetings were in development in PM’s residence and in IAF headquarters. Later the Foreign Secretary held a press conference where he briefed the whereabouts of the airstrike.
After the Pulwama attack, many sectors including cricket took their support away from Pakistan. The IMG Reliance along with DSport pulled out and stopped broadcasting games of Pakistan Super League (PSL) worldwide. There were also doubts rising regarding India-Pakistan World Cup clash.

There were many cricketers who felt proud of the airstrike and opened up on the matter on social media. After former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir lauded IAF’s bravery, Virender Sehwag also opened up.
He expressed his views on his official Twitter account in the wee hours of 26 February. Sehwag tweeted, “The boys have played really well. #SudharJaaoWarnaSudhaarDenge #airstrike.” Sehwag never minces with his words and through his tweet it is clear that he is extremely proud with India’s response.

Gambhir also saluted the IAF and lauded them for their bravery. He was the first to say that the talks with Pakistan should now be on the battlefield rather than on table. Gambhir tweeted, “JAI HIND, IAF @IAF_MCC @adgpi @IndiaStrikesAgain @IndiaStrikesBack #IndiaStrikes.”
