4. KL Rahul

KL Rahul might considered himself lucky for getting called in the World Cup. This is because he was selected ahead of Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant. Both Rayudu and Pant have played more ODIs than Rahul in the recent past.
However the stylish batsman is selected as a backup opener for Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. Rahul has the ability to play orthodox shots and is pleasing to the eyes when in form.
Rahul has played 14 ODIs so far and has scored 343 runs at an average of 34.30. He also has one century to his name. Although he is a backup opener, the management might use him in the No. 4 position if required. Rahul will look to score more runs and shut all controversies against him.
