India’s spinner-duo Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav might also get rest. This might be done keeping in mind of their upcoming major assignments of IPL and World Cup.
Pacer Jasprit Bumrah can also be rested for the series. He had a sensational Test series in Australia, where he took 21 wickets and became joint highest wicket-taker with Nathan Lyon.
Since then he was rested for the limited-overs tour against Australia and New Zealand. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami shouldered a lot of responsibility recently and hence they might also be rested.
