Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya recently made an appearance in the talk-show Koffee With Karan. The show is hosted by Bollywood’s famous director, producer and screenwriter Karan Johar.
In the show Hardik was seen making sexist remarks on women. This resulted in severe criticism from all over the country. Even the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) handed him a show-cause notice. They have asked him to reply on the shambolic incident in the talk-show.
The Committee of Administrators (CoA), headed by Vinod Rai, has suspended Pandya indefinitely until further enquiry is done. Moreover he was sent home midway from the Australian tour.
On the other hand Diana Edulji has hinted that the 25-year-old cricketer from Baroda might miss the World Cup in May. Diana is a former Indian women’s cricketer and presently a member of CoA.

Pandya had apologized a couple of times, but they weren’t enough for BCCI. Even the Indian captain Virat Kohli said that Pandya’s exclusion will not disturb the team balance.
Former Indian cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar have also supported BCCI and CoA’s decision. Even Bollywood actors like Esha Gupta and Urvashi Rautela have lashed out at Pandya.
Pandya was also criticized for choosing Virat Kohli over Sachin Tendulkar as the best batsman. The last few days have truly been horrific for the young budding all-rounder. Only time will show how BCCI and CoA handle this matter.
