2. Suresh Raina
Raina holds multiple IPL records of most runs (4985), most catches (95) and most matches (176). He was one of India’s best finishers in limited overs format. But the aggressive left-handed batsman is past his best days.
Although the selectors trusted him and given him some chances, yet he failed to capitalize on them. He last played an ODI on 17 July 2018 and last T20I against England in July 2018.
Raina plays for Uttar Pradesh in First Class cricket and India C in List A cricket. The 32-year-old player has scored only 4 fifties in his last 10 matches. The performances of other young cricketers are far convincing than Raina’s.
Raina played for CSK in the last edition and scored 445 runs in 15 games at a strike rate of 132.44. He has to perform extremely well in the IPL 2019 to catch the eyes of the selectors. Even though Raina calls it quits from international cricket, he will continue playing domestic T20 leagues.
